Medics of this unit work together with other specialists to treat conditions in a multidisciplinary team and choose the most appropriate therapy; this also happens during multidisciplinary meetings about the condition, with other colleagues like surgeons, anatomo-pathologists, oncologists, radiologists, endoscopists.
In order to improve communication between patient and doctor, a project was created in 2014: the nurse represents the point of reference for the patient during all the stay.
At the beginning of the stay, the patient is “assigned” to a “tutor nurse” who will be his spokesman for his necessities, interpreting and taking care of his needs.
