Conditions treated and cured in this ward

Conditions treated and cured in this ward
Endometriosis is a quite frequent pelvis inflammatory disease, regarding women of childbearing age. It can have an evolving nature and can be the cause of menstrual pain, sexual intercourse pain, chronic pelvic pain, infertitity. Often late diagnosis and underestimation of the condition lead to repeated surgeries sometimes disabling and not always conclusive.

An early diagnosis is essential for correct therapy and to prevent lasting damage on tissues, preserving fertility and quality of life.

How diagnosis is made

A gynaecologic visit performed by experts is essential to detect endometriosis and to assess its severity.

The first visit is associated to a transvaginal pelvic ultrasound exam.

Other exams like M.R.I., abdominal ultrasound or barium enema are prescribed by a specialist, based on clinical signs.
