Our mission
Emergency Room has the task of receiving, stabilize, diagnose and treat people in critical condition or presenting clinical status characterized by emergency and urgency, deferrable and undeferrable. Every patient is diagnosed, treated and stabilized according to the levels of criticality (see Codes). For conditions where a resolution of diagnosis and first treatment can be expected within 24 hours, Short-Stay Observation is available.
Short-Stay Observation takes care of cases not requiring immediate inpatient admission but only short-term observation and/or further diagnostics, as determined by Emergency Room medics. Short-Stay Observation purpose is: assess and treat patients with minor conditions or symptoms, permitting discharge after resolution, with definite or highly probable diagnosis; appropriately evaluate patients with non-univocal conditions, to better define condition and decide the most appropriate destination; reduce the number of inpatient admissions in hospital wards, improving efficiency.
Emergency rooms adheres to Code Pink Project to safeguard women who were victims of violence. Protected programs are available.
